I am going to tell you about an art exhibition that I visited last summer. That year was the 600th birthday of the forbidden city and to celebrate this big event, the administration decided to hold a series of exhibitions and display a large number of precious artworks that had been kept in the storage.

我要告訴你一場(chǎng)我去年夏天去過(guò)的藝術(shù)展覽。那年是紫禁城600歲的生日。為了慶祝這一大事件，管理機(jī)構(gòu)決定舉辦一系列的展覽，并展出許多之前一直在倉(cāng)庫(kù)中存放的珍貴藝術(shù)品。

Among them, there was one exhibition called “paintings about the everyday life of ancient people” which interested me most. As a person who was pretty keen on Chinese art and customs, I realized this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appreciate so many masterpieces at one time. So regardless of the threat of Covid-19, I went to the forbidden city, bought a ticket and had a wonderful afternoon in the palace.

在它們之中，有一個(gè)叫做《古人日常生活畫(huà)作》的展覽最讓我感興趣。作為一個(gè)喜愛(ài)中國(guó)藝術(shù)和風(fēng)速的人，我意識(shí)到這是一輩子才有一次的機(jī)會(huì)可以欣賞到如此多的大師作品。所以盡管有著新冠的威脅，我仍然前往故宮，買(mǎi)了票，在宮殿里度過(guò)了美妙的一下午。

The exhibition consisted of dozens of paintings which were arranged according to their chronological order. They depicted different aspects of normal citizens’ life hundreds or even thousands of years ago. And in the centre of the main hall was displayed Qingmingshanghetu, one of the most famous paintings in Chinese history. The scroll was 25.5 centimetres in height and 5.25 meters long and captured the daily life of people and the landscape of the capital during the Northern Song Dynasty.

該展覽包含數(shù)十幅畫(huà)作，按照時(shí)間順序排列。他們描繪了幾百甚至上千年前普通市民生活的各個(gè)方面。在展廳的中間是《清明上河圖》，中國(guó)歷史上最著 名的畫(huà)作之一。該卷軸高25.5厘米，長(zhǎng)5.25米?？坍?huà)了北宋年間人們的日常生活和當(dāng)時(shí)首都的風(fēng)景。

Although I had seen many of those paintings in my textbook and on the internet before, I was still amazed by their elegant strokes, perfect colours and various tyles.
