【參考范文】
Many people who live in the country are integrating into urban areas to seek a better living standard in recent times. Some governments therefore have decided to build more houses on the farmland and parks adjacent to city areas. Although urbanization has completely changed the quality of life on a large scale, there are also some problems related to it.
The main advantage of urbanization is convenience. City dwellers have easier access to education opportunities, medical healthcare and entertainment facilities than those living in rural areas. They can use time more efficiently due to the overall infrastructure within a short distance. Also, urbanization has led to a vast increase in tourism for many big cities. For instance, London is a place where many people travel to visit its major attractions, such as the Thames and Buckingham Palace, which draw more visitors to spend money and bring in billions of dollars in revenue.
On the other hand, the replacement of farmland and parks has contributed to a significant increase in noise pollution. With more gasoline cars and diesel vehicles on the road, people suffer from high levels of noise pollution which could be detrimental to health in the long term. Many studies have suggested that noise pollution lowers life expectancy in Mexico City. Another drawback is the destruction of natural habitats for flora and fauna. Since the need for residential space increased dramatically, large forested areas had to be cut down, which otherwise would have been natural habitats for many birds and animals. As a result, species that cannot move as fast as urbanization expansion will disappear.
In conclusion, although urbanization creates convenience and offers ways to improve quality of life, there are negative factors that come with it. The governments should formulate solutions to help sustain cities and enhance the overall living conditions of human beings.
