The experience I am going to tell you about happened on 8th October last year when I had just become the chairman of the photography society at my university, which is a medium-sized one devoted to improving people’s photography skills, and tried to recruit new members.

我要告訴你的經(jīng)歷發(fā)生在去年10月8日，當(dāng)時(shí)我剛剛成為我們學(xué)校攝影協(xié)會(huì)的主席，嘗試招收新成員。它是個(gè)中等大小的協(xié)會(huì)，致力于提升人們的拍照水平。

It is kind of my university’s tradition that when the National Day holiday is over, every society will set a stall on the side of the main road on the campus to draw new blood. I printed hundreds of leaflets, made a delicate exhibition board, and even devised a slogan to advertise our feature the day before. However, the whole morning was pretty mundane. This article is from Laokaoya website. There would be one or two students subscribing to my society from time to time. That was all.

算是我學(xué)校的傳統(tǒng)吧。當(dāng)國(guó)慶節(jié)假期結(jié)束，每個(gè)社團(tuán)都會(huì)在校園的主路旁設(shè)置攤位以吸收新鮮血液。我前一天打印了數(shù)百份傳單，制作了精美的展板，甚至想出了宣傳我們特點(diǎn)的口號(hào)。然而，早上一直都很平淡。時(shí)不時(shí)會(huì)有一兩個(gè)人報(bào)名。僅此而已。

But what I did not expect was that when the morning classes were over, my stall was suddenly overwhelmed by people. They crowded in front of the board, asked various questions, and could not wait to join in. I had to line them up to maintain the order and make sure I would not neglect anyone or omit their information.

但我沒(méi)有想到的是，當(dāng)早上的課程結(jié)束，我的攤位突然被人群所淹沒(méi)。他們擠在展板前，問(wèn)著各種各樣的問(wèn)題，等不及要加入。我不得不讓他們排起隊(duì)來(lái)，以確保我不會(huì)忽視任何人，或者遺漏他們的信息。

The main reason why I was swamped was that I was all alone. I did ask several classmates to help, but in the light of the circumstance in the morning, I sent them back to have lunch before noon. How stupid and short-sighted I was.

我十分忙碌的主要原因在于我只有自己一個(gè)人。我確實(shí)邀請(qǐng)了幾個(gè)同學(xué)來(lái)幫忙。但鑒于早上的情況，我讓他們回去吃午飯了。我多么愚蠢和沒(méi)有遠(yuǎn)見(jiàn)！
