The historical period I will tell you about is the Three Kingdoms,which existed about 1800 years ago.It started with the end of the Han dynasty and was followed by the Jin dynasty,lasting less than 100 years.This period was characterized by the tripartite division of China between the states of Wei,Shu,and Wu.

我要告訴你的歷史時(shí)期是三國(guó)，存在于大約1800年前。它以漢朝的結(jié)束開(kāi)始，以晉朝的設(shè)立為終結(jié)，持續(xù)了不到100年。這一歷史時(shí)期以魏蜀吳三分中國(guó)為特點(diǎn)。

I first learned about it from a novel called Romance of the Three Kingdoms,which is acclaimed as one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature.The story–part historical,part legend,and part mythical–romanticizes and dramatizes the lives of lords and their retainers,who tried to replace the dwindling Han dynasty or restore it.

我第一次了解到這一時(shí)期是從一本叫做三國(guó)演義的小說(shuō)。它是中國(guó)文學(xué)四大名著之一。這本部分史實(shí)、部分傳奇、部分神話的小說(shuō)將主公和臣子的人生浪漫化與戲劇化。他們努力取代飄搖的漢朝或者重建它。

What I am really interested in is the plots,personal and military battles,intrigues,and struggles of these states to achieve dominance.I have known the final winner,the main characters,and the general trend.

我真正感興趣的是這些國(guó)家在謀求統(tǒng)一的過(guò)程中所涉及到的陰謀、個(gè)人與軍事戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)、詭計(jì)以及奮斗。我已經(jīng)知道最終的獲勝者，主要的角色以及大體的趨勢(shì)。

However,since what I have read is a novel,I lack a lot of details,and I do not know which part is made up by the author and which part is the true history.I want to know what really happened during that period and if the heroes were as intelligent,loyal,and valorous as depicted in the book.
