A time I was late for a meeting happened about a year ago.It was on the first Friday afternoon of September.

一次我晚到的會議發(fā)生在大約一年前。那是九月份的第一個周五的下午。

I remember at that time,our government lifted covid lockdown and commuting restrictions,so we were able to attend classes on campus.At that time,my prof invited us to join a meeting to discuss what to write for our mid-term paper.

我記得那個時候，我們政府已經(jīng)解除了疫情封鎖和通勤限制，我們能夠去校園上課了。就是在那個時候，我的教授邀請我們參加一個會議來商討其中的論文事宜。

My professor informed us by email that we should arrive before 3 pm as he would have another class to teach in school an hour later.Well,the awkward thing was that I was half an hour late for this important meeting.The main reason was that I was playing a game called The World of Warcraft,a massively multiplayer online game.I had a dungeon to finish,which lasted around forty minutes.To avoid getting late,I intentionally set up an alarm that I missed,unfortunately.Maybe I was too deeply absorbed in the game and forgot there was a meeting.

我的教授通過郵件告訴我們需要在下午三點前到達，一個小時之后他還有另外一節(jié)課要教。很尷尬的就是，我當時遲到了半小時。主要的原因就是我當時在玩一款叫做魔獸世界的多人在線游戲。我當時有個五人副本要打，需要大概四十分鐘吧。為了防止遲到，我特意設置了鬧鐘。遺憾的是，這我也錯過了?；蛟S是因為我當時太投入了，忘記了有會議這回事情了。

Honestly speaking,I felt a bit guilty when I arrived there as my prof and classmates were waiting for me to cover up things we needed to do in cooperation.I was grateful that they didn’t blame me for anything,and I really hope this kind of stupid mistake won’t happen again in the future.

老實說，當我抵達那里的時候我感到很愧疚。因為，我的教授和同學們都等著我來完成需要合作的部分。他們并沒有責備我，我很感激。我希望我未來不要再犯這種愚蠢的錯誤了。
