I strongly agree with the statement that every child should be required to learn a second language in school. First of all, in today’s world, it is a huge advantage to speak more than one language. Take English for example, when speaking good English, people can make friends from all over the world. When travelling, we don’t have to stick with the tour guide, we can ask around and find the things to do that interest us. Also, a second language can open our minds. Because of English, I can get access to massive amount of information when I do research for my school works. Also when watching an English movie, I don’t need to rely on subtitles which sometimes aren’t accurate.

I don’t think all children should be required to learn a second language in school. Some children don’t even like to learn language. They are more interested in playing basketball, football and other sports. Even if they are required to learn a second language, they won’t treat it seriously. I had many friends in junior high who didn’t learn language at all. But they could play basketball very well and maybe some of them can become professional players. There is no need to learn a second language to achieve their goal. Also, many of the children won’t have chance to use the second language they learned at school, because when they grow up their job doesn’t need any foreign language skills. For example, many of my high school classmates now work as clerks in banks and they don’t need to use foreign language in their work. Still, they can do just fine.

Some people think that those children who do not want to keep learning a musical instrument course should be required to keep learning the course; while others think that those children should be allowed to make decisions by themselves (they can still do exercises by themselves without continuing with the class). What is your opinion and why?Please give specific details to support your opinion.

Personally speaking, I agree with thestatement that students get to make their own decisions. Because you know,musical instrument course shouldn’t be compulsory, they are electives. I am notdenying the fact that learning musical instruments will help us appreciate thebeauty of music, but it can be dull and boring if we just turn some interestsinto something we have to learn. Besides, the time spent in taking instruments canactually be applied to what we are really interested in. For me, I am ashopholic, so i will make full use of my every minute in keeping track of thelatest fashion trend, and taking any course unrelated to that will be a wasteof time for me.

托??谡Z task2的考查形式是對于一個問題的同意與否或者一個話題的兩種可能或兩個方面的一方偏好。所以,答題的步驟首先需要考生表明自己的觀點,隨后再給出自 己的理由作為支撐。表明觀點對我們來說沒有太大的困難,套用簡單的模板加上句式的變化是很容易就能解決的。而在提供理由作為支撐的部分,卻成為廣大考生的絆腳石。

主要的原因有以下幾個方面:1.對內(nèi)容的陳述缺乏細(xì)節(jié),繞圈子,意境朦朧,讓人覺得不知所云。2.對自己生活總結(jié)不足,不知道該說什么,想說什么, 能說什么。表達(dá)的時候缺乏信心。3.就算準(zhǔn)備過的話題也覺得沒底,擔(dān)心考試的時候考的剛好是這個話題中自己沒有準(zhǔn)備過的分項內(nèi)容。那么,如何有效地組織理由呢?在答題時,我們傾向于給出兩個理由作為支撐,這樣組織起來的答案比較飽滿也不會超時。基本的方法有三個,我們以live with roommates VS. live alone為例。

方法一、給出一方面的兩個有利條件。比如和室友住能夠獲得學(xué)習(xí)生活上的幫助;能夠?qū)W會如何和他人相處,抑或一個人住能享受自認(rèn)空間;學(xué)會自立。

方法二、在考試時不能及時想出兩個理由時,則給出一方面的好處和另一方面的壞處。比如,和室友住能夠獲得學(xué)習(xí)生活上的幫助;一個人住遇到困難時只能自己解決,而很多突發(fā)狀況一個人是難以應(yīng)付的。

然而,僅僅給出理由是遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠的,還需要進(jìn)一步的論證。在之前我們有提到考生在回答時的困難有一點那就是對內(nèi)容的陳述缺乏細(xì)節(jié),繞圈子,意境朦朧, 讓人覺得不知所云。這一點就在于如何進(jìn)一步進(jìn)行論證,在這里給大家提供以下幾種簡單的論證方法并仍然以live with roommates VS. live alone為例。

很多時候,十句空泛的大道理比不上一個事實。羅列數(shù)據(jù)是表現(xiàn)使理由細(xì)節(jié)化的一個重要手段。e.g.According to the statistic released by the publicsecurity department, the accident rate of living with roommates is 15% lowerthan living alone.

二、experience經(jīng)歷經(jīng)驗

描述發(fā)生在自己或身邊人的真實經(jīng)歷是最具說服力并且最能體現(xiàn)細(xì)節(jié)的方法。e.g. Once I was in the dorm and preparing my up-coming examination, myroommate, wearing headphones, indulged in chatting with his girlfriend excitedlyand totallyignored his roommates’ feeling.Therefore I prefer live alone toenjoy a quiet personal space.
