雅思大作文模板

雅思大作文模板 1. Advertising makes people buy things that they do not really need. To whatextent do you agree with this view?
People, who maintain that individuals, without enough consideration, tend topurchase products under the enormous influence of advertising, are justifiedto some degree. It is true that products may look gorgeous and he of high qualityon television. As, a result, although consumers may not actually need the product, they would make impulsive purchasing decisions after watching the advertisement.
Furthermore, lots of customers buying the same product will influence other peopleto follow the trend, which is actually created by the original advertising campaign.
Besides, the proliferation of advertising encourages people to lead a luxury life style.
The expensive items advertised by TV radio and newspapers, such as cars, jewelryand extravagant meals, allure people on a daily basis. Undeniably, splurging money isnot deemed appropriate in any society.
However, some people allege that the personality and thinking pattern of a personcan be a dominant factor, outweighing the influence of advertising, to determineone's way of behavior, including shopping habits. In fact, there can be variousreasons for an individual to buy things that are not of practical use, for instance, showing off to friends and relatives. More importantly, it is reasonable to say thateveryone has his or her own definition of what is useful and what is not. What is notuseful to one person might be useful to another person. Therefore, it is an individual'sright to pick out what he or she feels is useful. It's like one's only paying attention tothe message that interests him or her at an information desk.
  2. Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects onyoung children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is obvious that using computers all day long will do harm to the vision ofchildren. It will also take up much of their valuable time for other activities, such as playing football, basketball and so forth, which can promote communication withtheir peers and their physical growth. Furthermore, children may feel increasinglylonely and depressed as a consequence of lack of communication, cooperation andexercise. In other words, children are likely to have both physical and psychologicalproblems.
However, making rational use of the computers can bring children many benefits.
First and foremost, the variety of functions is one of the great advantages thatcomputers can offer. Children can draw pictures, listen to music, write essays andmake travel plans. Moreover, computers, as a tool of study, can also enhance theefficiency of study as well as the quality of the homework.
  3. It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talents, forinstance for sport or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimesclaimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person ormusician.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Compared with ordinary people, geniuses' performance is more impressive, which convinces me that natural talents do exist. Take the art realm for example.
One usually establishes his or her reputation at an early age-under the age of 30. Behe or she a musician or a painter, the masterpiece produced depends largely on thecreativity that stems from the person's inborn talents. A telling(convincing) exampleis the child prodigy, Mozart, who performed in public when he was six years oldand wrote his first symphony at the age of 14. Indeed, talent makes people stand out among their peers from an early age.
Nonetheless, naturally talented people may lose out in some circumstances. Somepeople who were considered brilliant have turned out to he ordinary after they grewup. In fact, what makes one person successful on his or her career path, essentially,is diligent work. Lang Lang, a Chinese musician with an international reputation, haspractised playing the piano every day since he was 3 years old. Without hard work,he would not be able to have such a successful career. No matter whether the personis gifted or ordinary, he or she is able to make equally remarkable accomplishmentsthrough systematic learning and persistent practice. The business world is anotherexample. Natural born leaders are rare. Most of them develop from the ground leveland learn from hands-on experience and knowledge.
  4. Some people say the government should not put money in the arts, suchas music, opera and paintings, but instead should spend more money onconstruction of infrastructure. Discuss.
First of all, funding arts projects, such as music and paintings, enables citizens tohave opportunities to experience spiritual and emotional relief from high work pressure. Various art forms help people to enhance their aesthetic taste and diversifytheir leisure time activities. In addition, the traditional arts should be well protectedby governments since they are a national heritage with both educational andsymbolic functions. For example, ancient architecture not only serves as the sourceof inspiration for modern buildings but also preserve representations of historicperiods.
On the other hand, putting money into the construction of infrastructure canalso be justified by the evidence that a great number of people in most developingcountries still live under the poverty line. It is the government's responsibility toensure that citizens have access to affordable public transport and sufficient medicalfacilities. Besides, infrastructure accounts for a part of GDP that measures theeconomic level of a country. After all, without a basic standard of living, people wouldrather sacrifice arts, and luxury enjoyment, in exchange for practical benefits thatthey can enjoy on a daily basis.
  5. Some people believe that charity organizations should give aid to those ingreat need, no matter where they live; others think that charity organizationsshould concentrate on helping those in their own country. Discuss both viewsand give your opinion.
Undoubtedly, charity organizations' responsibility is to help people in need, nomatter where they come from. As a result, the world will become a friendlier placewith support from everywhere. What is more, international aid may also contributeto the great reputation enjoyed by many different charity organizations from various countries. These perhaps explain why some people think that charityorganizations should offer aid to the entire world.
However, many people are in favor of the opposing idea that charity organizationsshould give helping hands to the people in their own countries only. One argumentfor this is that such organizations in poor countries may have not enough money andresources to help other countries. Another argument is that cultural influences, abyproduct of the aid from one certain country, would he unavoidably imposed uponthe aided country. To avoid such a sensitive issue, charity organizations should onlyhelp the local populous.
