Describe a friend you had when you were a child
You should say:
- how you first met
- how long you were friends
- what you used to do together
and explain why you liked this person.
Emily and I used to study in the same class in middle school and we have known each other more than 10 years. She is of medium height and has a pair of dewy and double-edged eyes. She has a high-bridged nose and ruddy lips. When I think of my friend, the thing which stands out most is her constantly smiling face.
She is gorgeous inside. She has this whole package, warm-hearted, humorous, cute and thoughtful. She helped me whenever I was in trouble or I had a puzzled and anxious look on my face. I remember it was a midnight that I got a serious fever when my parents had to work overtime. I hold the attitude that having a try to call her and asked for her help. She came to my house immediately bring a few kinds of antipyretics and took care of me until my parents got home. So small might it be, to him, it would definitely make me warm inside my heart. Once she told me that a friend is someone who stood on your side and the one who encouraged you when you are in gloom. Last year, Emily moved to Shanghai and I miss her a lot.

Describe a piece of good news you heard from TV or the Internet.
You should say:
what the news was about
when you got this news
where you got this news from
and explain why you think it was a good piece of news.
I once read a piece of good news on the website of the New York Times. It was two years ago, I was still a journalism student and one of my tutors assigned me to do a presentation for my news-gathering course. The time limit was five minutes and it was supposed to be a critique, i.e., stating clearly what was good and bad about the story.
So I started preparing for my assignment. I was skimming through pages and clicking around when this article caught my eye. Basically, it was about a high school student who got bullied because he stuttered. The news story was a good one because it wasn’t what I expected it to be — a one-sided story that went on about the poor boy.
This piece was actually rather fair and balanced. It tried to show the readers what had happened to the stutterer and they gave the alleged bullies a chance to give their side of the story. From the journalistic perspective, it was a neat one.

Describe something interesting you learnt from the Internet.
You should say:
what you learnt
which website you learnt it from
how you learnt it
and explain why you think what you learnt was interesting.
My friend Amy is a travel-holic and is constantly on the road. When I told her my trip plan to Indonesia, she introduced me this travel website called Couch surfing. Technically, it doesn’t tell you anything about your destinations. But what it does is it lists the names and profiles of people who are happy to show you around their city and provide local perspectives.
How it works is simple. You just send a request to potential hosts and if it is accepted, then you can get to sleep on their couch, or sometimes in their bed. What’s more attractive is they are all for free. The aim of the website wasn’t to make money but to provide a platform for people who are interested in exchanging their languages, cultures, and making new friends from different backgrounds.
The most valuable lesson I learnt from the site is to share. After staying for two days at my Indonesian host’s place, I was so impressed by the family’s hospitality. Even though they didn’t have much, they offered me all they had. My stay with them completely changed the way I treat strangers and my view toward sharing.
雅思口語a special meal話題

雅思口語part2高分話題范文參考:
Ok then, well I’m actually quite lucky in the fact that I’ve been invited to quite a number of special meals, and the one I’ve decided to talk to you about was a farewell dinner of a good friend of mine, because he was about to go off to Canada for a few years to start university there, so he invited a few of his close friends for a farewell dinner before heading off.
And one of the reasons I’ve chosen to talk about this meal instead of some of the others I’ve been to is simply that it’s still quite fresh in my memory. You know, it was only about a couple of weeks ago when it happened. And as for where we had the meal, well I can’t remember the exact name of the place, but it was quite a posh restaurant somewhere in the centre of the city, and judging from how nice it looked when I walked in, it seemed to be a pretty expensive place to dine. So I was kind of relieved that it wouldn’t be me footing the bill! And we also had our own separate room, which was nice, and probably just as well, seeing as we made quite a bit of noise during the meal, what with all the laughing and stuff going on.
Anyway regarding what we ate, well I couldn’t tell you every single dish that we had, because there was just so much, you know, the whole table was literally covered with food. I mean, there was crab, chicken, duck, what else, um,……oh yeah, shrimps, and, uh…..oh and a whole load of different vegetables. So by the end of it, I was absolutely stuffed. You know, we all ate masses, because the food was so good, and it would have been a bit of a pity to see it go to waste!
But anyway, finally then, with regard to how I felt about the meal, well to put it simply, I really enjoyed it. Because as well as the food, which was fantastic, I really enjoyed everyone’s company. You know, it was great being together with so many good friends, many of which I hadn’t seen in quite a while.
So yeah, all in all, it was a really special evening, and I’m extremely grateful to have been invited, and also very grateful to my friend for his generosity, as the bill must have come to quite a lot, I’m sure!
