Describe a small successful company.
What the company is?
What did they do?
Why it is successful?
又是一道巨難的題目,估計很多同學(xué)倒在what the company is上了。 也就是說,雅思口語既要考察tools(語言工具),也好考察contents(知識與思維)。
Try to keep abreast with the world and times.(與世界,與時代保持同步)(基本就類似應(yīng)試教育向素質(zhì)教育的轉(zhuǎn)變了……)
Well, it’s quite an unfamiliar topic for me to cover, and after some serious brains-raking, thankfully I do find a company that falls right into the category of small and successful. It’s called zhihu in China.
It is initially launched as a Q&A website in Jan.2011. Its idea comes out from Quora, so you can see it as the Chinese quora. There is now a registered membership of 50million for the website and the team that makes this happen is made up by less than 100 twenty-something, based in Beijing. Zhuhu provides a playground where you can have various discussions in a positive and productive environment. The ground rules are set up to protect people, so there won't be too many attacks. And the cultivated community can help steer the overall community attitude towards building a more positive, more intellectual, and more supportive community. What Zhihu is trying to build is a peer-to-peer network of knowledge, expertise and insight. When one on the network contributes one bit, the rest on the network will get one gig.
Even though it is sort of a copycat, in China , there is none website like it. Zhihu plays an important role in current Chinese society. for It opens a door for many non English-speaking Chinese people to know a bigger world. Many well-informed and well-traveled people share their insights there, so every day you can pick up something eye-opening if you invest enough time. Also it is relatively quite an open platform for people to express freely. Kind, sincere and serious converSATion is the norm. People share, learn and make friends there.
So basically, the knowledge is a beauty and the free expression is a rarity. When Zhihu combines the two, it is undoubtedly a success.

The first film that I watched was the Lion King many years ago in the cinema with my parents. What I can remember now is the terrific animation and the amazing soundtrack. i particularly liked the song Can You Feel the Love Tonight that I knew it was produced by Elton John. For most part, I like watching films at my home under by blanket. But, when there are lot of my friends going out, I do company them. However, this does not happen very often. So, one can say, if the movie is really nice and we all friends want to have some fun together, we go to cinema.
How do people in your country react to cinema?
Oh! People in my country love cinema and it certainly plays a very important role in our lives. There are so many people who take advance tickets to watch films of their favourite starts. Also, there are people who would just bare standing in lines for the one ticket to watch a film. You could hear claps and then fights taking place or the teary eyes.
What genre of movies do you really prefer?
I love romantic movies the most. For me, the emotion love is the most important emotion of all and I love it when two people fall in love with each other. Some of my favourite romantic movies have been, what happens in vegas, Notebook, crazy stupid love. But, apart from romantic movies, I also like watching comedy movies and sometimes the motivational movies, the ones based on true life incidents.

Which genre of movies do you try to avoid?
I really don’t like horror movies. Not primarily, because I get terrified but because I think movies are there to make you feel relaxed. For me, horror movies, give so much of emotion and excitement that it seems as if some work has been done.

Describe a book you have recently read
You should say:
What type/kind of book it was What it was about
Where you read it
How you felt about the book?
One of the books that I have recently read is called At Home: A Short history of Private Life by an author called Bill Bryson. It is a thick, factual book about many different subjects. It is really a collection of information and anecdotes related to our private lives, past and present.
The book is mainly about things that have been included in our homes over the centuries. The author started out by wondering about the history of everything in his own home. As it is a factual book rather than a novel, it does not have a plot as such. Each chapter in the book covers the history of a particular room. For example, the chapter on the kitchen talks about the history of running water, electricity, gas cooking and so on. The chapter about the bathroom looks at the history of plumbing, sanitation and privacy. The book contains so much interesting information that I think I will have to read it again in order to take it all in.
As to the kind of people who would enjoy It, I think anybody who IS interested in history and enjoys learning lots of interesting facts would enjoy reading this book. It would also appeal to a busy person, as it is a good book to dip in and out of, because you don't have to follow a story, as you would with a novel. You can just take it chapter by chapter, or even page by page, as there is something to learn on every page. Each chapter is written like a story, even though it is a factual book, so it takes the reader to all sorts of unexpected places, and for me it was a real page-turner.
I like this book because I learned such a huge amount from it, which has made me look around my own home with different eyes and appreciate just how far we have come in a short space of time in terms of architecture, technology, lighting, comfort and many other things.
