雅思口語(yǔ)part2話題參考范文
When I was on vacation last summer I saw a lot of interesting places, but one that sticks in my mind is a tower, well actually some people called it a fort – it was constructed a long time ago, in the 17 century. It was used to guard the shore against invasions from enemies and for that reason it had a semicircular gun platform, or an artillery battery, which was able to defend against attacks from the sea.
The design of the building is quite simple; it’s a four-walled structure with a pentagonal turret (or tower) at each corner. The entrance to the tower is via a drawbridge – just like you see in old castles, and there is a moat all around the structure, although now it’s a ditch without any water.
It’s been used for various purposes over the centuries, obviously for defense, also as a prison, and more recently it housed a restaurant as well as a pizzeria although when I visited it the building was closed and apparently now it isn’t actually used for anything – it’s just a historical site – but we were lucky enough to see a special event there – a historical re-enactment of one of the important events that happened during an invasion – this was part of a celebration of the building’s 400th year.
The interesting thing is – it’s not a famous building like the Eiffel Tower or the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, it wasn’t built by a well-known architect or anyone famous, but it’s size and appearance in contrast to the area around it – and its commanding view of the sea are quite impressive, not to mention the fact that it’s more than 400 hundred years old and it’s still standing there – very imposing. When we were standing inside we could almost ‘feel’ the history in its walls and you could easily imagine how things were at the time it was built – it has such a presence. That’s why I think it’s an interesting building – because of how it made me feel.
雅思口語(yǔ)一次重要的談話話題
Describe an important conversation.
You should say:
when it was
who was in the conversation
what it is about
and explain why it is important.
When I was a kid, I was hardly a model student. I had an older brother who was a bit of a rebel, he’d go out drinking and smoking and causing trouble, and I guess some of his bad behaviour rubbed off on me.
I can remember when I was a teenager, I must have been around 17, I had taken my university entrance exam but my grades were dismal. My parents were distraught, they had had such high hopes for me and I remember my mum being in floods of tears. My dad sat me down and we had a long conversation about my future and the direction I was heading in. He calmly told me I had a second chance to repeat the test and make my family proud. He said that I should take a long, hard look at myself and picture where I wanted to be in 10 years time.
At first I dug in my heels, but eventually my father’s words sank in and I realised I needed to knuckle down and study. I hit the books hard and over the course of the year I was more and more prepared. In the end, I got a good grade and was able to attend university.
I feel like that was one of the most important conversations I’ve ever had. I knew that he was speaking from the heart and that I couldn’t disappoint him any longer. My dad’s words of wisdom were a real wake-up call and it turned out to be a major turning point in my life.
雅思口語(yǔ)童年時(shí)候的歌話題
Describe a song or melody that you remember from your childhood.
You should say:
where you heard this song or melody
how old you were when you first heard it
what the song was about
and explain how you felt when you heard this song.
My mother used to sing me lullabies. One of the songs she sang was "Scarlet Ribbons". I remember being about 4 or 5 and really identifying with the little girl who wanted the ribbons and fascinated with the "magical answer" to the mother's prayer.
It's a folk tune that Harry Belafonte sang ...I suppose you could also identify it as religious or Christmas music, although Christmas isn't mentioned. I also have a newer version of Michael Crawford singing it, but no version comes anywhere close to how my mom sang it for me.
Now that I'm a mom myself, I identify with the mother in the song, wanting so badly to give her child a simple thing she wants, and I still believe prayers are answered, although many times God answers them through the actions of other people who are instruments in his hands.

雅思口語(yǔ)part2高分話題范文參考:
My mother often sang me a lullaby titled "Oh my sweet angel look the Moon has come to play with you…” in my bedtime and I have heard it so many times in my childhood that I can still remember it very vividly. This was a song usually famous in the rural area of our country that mothers often use to soothe the baby and to send them to sleep. It was an 8-10 lines song with great harmony and the way my mother sand it was extraordinary. It still echoes in my head and I miss those days.
I can remember my mother often sand this song till I got admitted in the school and I heard it from my father as well in my bedtime. I was pretty touched by the lyrics and in my childhood, I often imagined that the verses used in this song were true and would happen to me as well.
We often remember things from childhood especially the stories or songs we hear with great enthusiasm. This song was no exceptions. I heard it hundreds of times and as a child I fanaticized those things to be true. Thais is the main reason I still remember it. Maybe, someday when I will become a father/ mother, I will sing thins song to my children as well. This has in fact become a permanent memory and I still love the great and calming piece of music.
