1. 時(shí)間:>30用to，<30用past，half past，或直接用數(shù)字表達(dá)，15分鐘用aquarter。介詞用at, 上午用AM，下午用PM。晚上12點(diǎn)多用AM，12：01(twelve oh one AM).

2. 年代: 1987(nineteen eighty-seven), 1900(nineteen hundred), 1650(sixteenfifty), 1650s(sixteen fifties, in the middle of the 17th century), at the turnof the century(世紀(jì)之交), 2008 (two thousand and eight, twenty oh eight), decade(十年)，fortnight(two weeks).

3.十幾和幾十的分辨(聽元音的長短，及重音)14, fourteen, 40 forty can, can’t.

4. 電話號碼:按數(shù)字讀，一般為三位，三位數(shù)的讀。419-911-9123, 零可以讀zero, oh, naught, 兩個(gè)零在末尾讀hundred，三個(gè)零可以讀thousand。兩個(gè)數(shù)字讀double, 三個(gè)讀triple. Country code, area code, extension,exchange, operator, incoming call, text message,short message, pager, page.

5. 小數(shù)、分?jǐn)?shù):0.35–zero point three five 6.5-six point five分?jǐn)?shù)：one third, twothirds.

6. 貨幣:pound(pounds), penny(pennies), dollar, cent, euro, yen, yuan,注意符號的寫法￥￡$。5.67-five sixty-seven, 5.6-five sixty.

7. 月份：The fourteenth of July( July 14th ) (July the fourteenth), 1st, 2nd,3rd, 11th , 12th, 13th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 月份可以寫縮寫，9月份要寫成Sept.

8. 字母G、j、v、w、n、m的讀法。

9. 數(shù)字讀法：thousand, million (m), billion(bn) 3,456,789(three million, fourhundred and fifty-sixty thousand, seven hundred and nine).

10. 人名:first name, second name, given name, family name, surname, nickname,Zhou, Jielun or Jielun Zhou O’Neil, (apostrophe), MacDonald, (capitalletter)VanPatten.
