I remember one book in particular that I enjoyed reading previously that I would like to read again. The title of the book is Ultimate Power, by Tony Robbins. He’s an author who specialize in motivational material and this book helped me a lot the first time I read it.
It’s one of the most popular books in this genre, probably because it helps people on a personal and professional level to achieve more and get more out of life. The author has become quite famous since writing the book and has helped many celebrities and famous people to perform better and attain a better quality of life overall.
It’s like reading a guide to personal achievement in all aspects of life; it covers topics like discovering what you really want out of life, how to think differently and overcome your fears and phobias that are holding you back from doing things, enhanced techniques for interacting more successfully with all kinds of people, how to copy the habits and techniques of other successful people, and shows you how to be more confident and become financially independent.
You could think of it as a blueprint to reinventing the parts of yourself or your life that you’re unsatisfied with. The first time I read it I put some of the ideas into practice and it helped me become much better at certain aspects of life, but that was a good few years ago and I didn’t implement all the ideas. I think if I re-read it now I would probably find some other things I would like to try – to improve my professional performance especially.
So, Ultimate Power is a book I would definitely like to read again when I have some free time, because I think it offers invaluable advice for people who want to constantly improve themselves.
1. How many hours do you sleep every day?
但切記不要只說(shuō)I sleep for 8hours 就沒(méi)有了。
可以借助頻率詞:usually,sometimes,once in a while,occasionally,或者是on weekdays ,on weekends,on holidays 等。
通常我每天睡幾個(gè)小時(shí),幾點(diǎn)到幾點(diǎn),還可以給出原因,對(duì)學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)睡前完成作業(yè),finish the homework and prepare for the next day。
Actually,on weekdays,I usually sleep for just 6hours at most. Because I have to stay awake, finish my homework and prepare for the next school day until midnight and I must get up around 6:30 to fresh up myself then commute to school for 45mins. Fortunately, on weekends or holidays, I can stay in bed as long as I wish, maybe for 10 hours or even more.
2. Is it necessary to sleep enough?
比如 storage up energy養(yǎng)精蓄銳; get a clear mind for the next day第二天精神狀況更好等; 另一個(gè)也很容易描述的方面是:實(shí)際情況是怎樣。
Sure, definitely. It’s extremely important to sleep for at least 7hours a day. So that one can storage up energy and get a clear mind for the next day. However, the fact is nothing like this. Almost everyone I know stays up quite late either having entertaining activities, playing smart phones or doing their job or homework. Lacking of bedtime is already a serious social problem nowadays.
Describe a time when you had a problem with a piece of equipment
You should say:
what equipment it was
what problem you had
when you had this problem
and explain what you did about this problem. (How you fixed or resolved the problem)
I remember once, a few years ago it was, when I had a problem with my washing machine. It was quite an old machine but it had always worked very well and was effective at washing clothes, sheets and such like.
Anyway, one day when I was using it, I noticed some water leaking out from underneath the machine. It was maybe about half-way through the washing cycle when this happened. I started to mop up the water and thought it maybe wasn’t anything serious – but a few minutes later a wave of water appeared across the floor of the laundry room, it was as if I’d just opened the door on the machine while it was still full of water.
I couldn’t mop up the water fast enough. I had to turn the machine off, and there was still more water inside it. So, the machine stopped and I continued trying to mop up the water, eventually managing to get the floor dry.
I’m not a technical person at all, so I called my brother who is quite good at things like that and he came round later in the afternoon to have a look at it. It only took him about 5 minutes to find the problem – apparently one of the water hoses at the back of the machine had come loose and that was why the water had been pouring out from under the machine instead of draining away through the hose.
He managed to reconnect it again and then we tested the washing machine by filling it with a little water and some clothes to make sure that it would operate again normally. Thankfully it did … so it was quite a simple problem to fix, but it was very inconvenient at the time. I’m happy to say that it’s been working fine ever since then – just like it used to.
What kinds of books do you like to read?
I'd say I like reading quite a variety of books, both fiction as well as nonfiction. So for example, I'm a big fan of detective novels, because I enjoy trying to solve the crimes while I'm reading, although I have to admit I'm pretty useless at it most of the time! And as for nonfiction stuff, I'd say I mostly like reading things like self-help books and biographies of various people I admire, such as the new book on Steve Jobs, which I'm currently in the middle of reading.
Are you reading any books at the moment?
Yeah, I'm actually halfway through a couple of books right now. One of them's a novel which a friend of mine lent me, and the other is a book on business, which I bought about a year ago, but didn't get round to reading until now.
