1. Do you often have dreams at night?

Yes, actually I dream a lot at night. Some may say it indicates poor sleeping quality, while I quite enjoy them. I think dreams are like filtered reality. It might add something like magic to our normal life.

2. Have you had a bad dream before?

Truth to be told, I had a really bad dream these days. I dreamt about how I performed poorly in today's IELTS' exam. I remember the topic was to describe a famous person in your country, which I had completely no idea with the one who impressed me a lot. Well, I do hope things will be fine today.

3. What's the strangest dream you have had?

Well, the strangest dream I've had was being the alumni of Harry Porter. During that period, I was enchanted by the Harry Potter world and watched Harry Porter movie series several times. In that dreams, I was admitted in Gryffindor, Hogwarts. The exitement I felt when I held the magic wand was so fresh that I was quite disappointed when I woke up. Truth to be told, I do want more of these kind of strange dreams.

4. What do you usually dream about?

I usually dream about what happened in the daytime. For example, during the exam week, I even take exams in my dreams. It's like an endless nightmare, given that I already suffered a lot in real life.

5.Do you usually remember your dreams after wakingup?

Well, I can remember some immediately after I wake up. But I will forget everything several minutes later. I kind of remember the feeling but I can’t recall any details.

雅思口語(yǔ)保持健康的運(yùn)動(dòng)話題

Describe an activity you do to keep fit.

You should say:

what you do

when you started doing it

how much time you spend doing it

and explain how this activity helps you keep fit.

Well, I’m sure I’m not the only one guilty of owning a gym membership that sits gathering dust in a drawer somewhere. I get my exercise mainly from cycling.

I can’t remember exactly when I started cycling, but it was when I was around 5 or 6 years old. My dad taught me by pushing me down a hill and wishing me luck! There were a few bumps and bruises to begin with, but eventually I was riding all by myself and you know what they say, 'you never forget how to ride a bike'.

I lack the motivation to go to the gym regularly, but I can fit cycling into my daily routine seamlessly. What’s more, I never get bored of being in the saddle. I ride to and from work and sometimes go out for longer rides on my days off. In fact, it’s not unheard of for me to slip on a pair of Lycra shorts and take a 50 or 60 mile jaunt on a weekend.

Cycling is a great way to keep fit as it burns calories and there is less impact on your joints than other sports, such as running. As well as my body, cycling could help my mind. Some people say it helps you sleep longer and more deeply, in addition to reducing stress, all of which can only be a good thing.

雅思口語(yǔ)童年時(shí)候的歌話題

Describe a song or melody that you remember from your childhood.

You should say:

where you heard this song or melody

how old you were when you first heard it

what the song was about

and explain how you felt when you heard this song.

My mother used to sing me lullabies. One of the songs she sang was "Scarlet Ribbons". I remember being about 4 or 5 and really identifying with the little girl who wanted the ribbons and fascinated with the "magical answer" to the mother's prayer.

It's a folk tune that Harry Belafonte sang ...I suppose you could also identify it as religious or Christmas music, although Christmas isn't mentioned. I also have a newer version of Michael Crawford singing it, but no version comes anywhere close to how my mom sang it for me.

Now that I'm a mom myself, I identify with the mother in the song, wanting so badly to give her child a simple thing she wants, and I still believe prayers are answered, although many times God answers them through the actions of other people who are instruments in his hands.

雅思口語(yǔ)Memory話題

1.Do you think memory is important?

Yes, I do. If we couldn’t remember certain things, life would be very awkward and difficult. Our memories hold a lot of important information we use all the time, every day, just to live.

2.Do you think it's important to have a good memory?

It can certainly help make things easier. If you can remember things easily and not forget them it can be very beneficial. Activities such as studying and learning seem much easier.

3.What are some of the benefits of having a good memory?

I guess some people think you are maybe more intelligent, or certainly smarter than most people, especially if you have an excellent memory and can remember everything. It can help you avoid embarrassing social situations if you never forget someone’s birthday, or if you don’t forget people’s names when you haven’t seen them for a long time.

4.Are there any things that are especially important for people to memorize?

I suppose it depends on the situation. Everything is important to some people. I mean… most people get upset if their friends or someone close forgets their birthday or a special occasion like an anniversary.

5.Do you think having a good memory is important for students?

Well, it certainly helps, doesn’t it? I mean it’s so much easier to remember all those facts, or formulas or information or whatever it is you’re studying. It can save a lot of time if you can just recall most things you need in an instant and not have to review your books or look it up again each time you some information.
