1.I'd like to talk about an amazing experience i had at the city art gallery.A couple of weeks ago,a famous artist held his exhibition at the city art gallery. My friend gave me a spare ticket. So I went there to appreciate those amazing paintings and sculptures.

2.It's an amazing experience.Imagination plays an important role in appreciating artworks. There’s a saying that it’s easy to enjoy an artwork but hard to really understand it.People may have different interpretations on the same painting or sculpture. When I appreciate an artwork,I'd let go of my imagination and seek answers for those questions, like:What the artist's thinking while creating it/What he/she wants to express through it.

3.What made it difficult is the lack of some knowledge, for example:I don’t really know much about the artist, like:his background, art styles. So while trying to understand those artworks,I felt like missing an important piece of a puzzle ,which is painful. That's unacceptable for a curious mind.

4.As to how I felt about the experience.Well, appreciating artworks opens my mind to new thing. It widens my horizon.Although I can't tell everything behind those works,it doesn't matter.Because in my opinion, art is the ultimate way to express one's ideas and feelings. So using imagination to find out possible answers is an interesting thing to do.I enjoy it very much.

1. Do you think friends are important?

沒有朋友大多數(shù)時(shí)間(much of the time )我們都會(huì)很孤獨(dú),雖然有的時(shí)候一個(gè)人也是很自在的(it’s nice to be left alone), 這里對(duì)于nice 替換可以有brilliant, fantastic等一類的詞語。 但是無人交談(have no one to talk to)也是很可怕的。 (Friends should be held close),因?yàn)樗麄兪俏覀兡軗碛械淖钣袃r(jià)值的東西(the most valuable things)。

Of course friends are important! Without friends we would be lonely much of the time, and although sometimes it’s nice to be left alone, it would be horrible to have no one to talk to. With friends we can enjoy similar interests, talk about our lives and share experiences. Friends should be held close, because they’re some of the most valuable things we can have. A true friend will always be there for you when you need them most. A strong group of friends is as good as, if not better than, a family.

2. Do you prefer to have one or two close friends or a wide circle of friends?

只有少數(shù)幾個(gè)人一直是我朋友,我認(rèn)為這才是真正友誼的標(biāo)志(the mark of true friendship)。

這道題需要注意的是在題目中首先要明白a wide circle of friends的意思,表示大量的,很多的朋友,然后以自己的想法和態(tài)度對(duì)于有一兩個(gè)密友(one or two close friends)和很多的朋友(a wide circle of friends)這個(gè)比較寬泛的概念進(jìn)行論述。

I have a wide range of interests, so I think it’s good to have a wide circle of friends because that way I’m always able to find someone who I can talk to about something. To be honest though, it’s much better to have one or two close friends because those are the friends that count. Close friends will always stick by you through thick and thin, and you can talk about more personal issues than you can with mere acquaintances. I’ve had many, many friends over the years but I’ve lost touch with most of them. Only a few have been my friends the whole time, and I think that’s the mark of true friendship.

3. What do you think is the difference between a “close friend” and a “best friend”?

Some people attach great significance to the title of “best friend”. Personally, I don’t think it’s possible to single one person out as the “best” and better than other friends. Sometimes it makes your other friends feel inferior because they are not given this title. The idea of a best friend is a good one though: it means someone who you absolutely trust, have known for a long time and get along with very well. It’s a special relationship that means a lot to both people.

4. How can one distinguish between a close friend and an acquaintance?

對(duì)于“a close friend”和“ an acquaintance”之間的區(qū)別還是相對(duì)比較容易被區(qū)分的。

另外,此題也應(yīng)該以大范圍的方式進(jìn)行論述,最好不要涉及I的個(gè)人表達(dá),可以用someone, you, a close friend, and acquaintances 這樣寬泛的表達(dá)來表述。

It’s easy tell the difference. An acquaintance may be someone you enjoy spending time with and probably has similar interests to you, but you don’t know enough about each other to really be good friends. Acquaintances are often made at school or work where people spend a lot of time with each other, and you probably like them and enjoy being with them but don’t have much of a relationship beyond that. A close friend is someone who you’ve maybe known for a long time and know very well. A close friend is someone you can talk to about your thoughts and feelings, but you probably wouldn’t do that with an acquaintance.

Describe something that you want to learn more.

I was almost drowned when I was little so I do not enjoy being in the water. I wanted to overcome my fear of water. And it was definitely a challenge for me. I learned it in a health club and practiced from watching some swimming videos. I started off in the shallow end, where I could touch my feet to the bottom. When I felt more comfortable, I went to the deep end. Now I am not that good at it but I conquered my fear of water and I go swimming at least once a week. It becomes a part of my schedule. Swimming is a great exercise and it is low impact if I can overcome the fear of water. I feel it’s refreshing, it doesn't stress my knees or ankles as much as other sports, and it works every muscle in my body. It's an intense workout, but at the same time the water is relaxing and stress-relieving.

1. What shows do old people and young people watch?

Oh, I guess old people, first of all, opt for news programs as only news lets them stay informed and up-to-date with what is going on in the area and in the world. They also like to watch all types of programs which help them get entertained and not feel lonely, I mean different talk and talent shows, cookery, programs and other programs about hobbies such as gardening, fishing and travelling. Elderly women also watch soap operas and dramas in order to involve themselves emotionally in something outside themselves while elderly men prefer to watch sporting events to expose themselves to things they enjoyed doing in their young years. I am not sure that young people watch TV these days as the majority of the young think that it's not very meaningful as it leaves people with less time for life, causes unrealistic expectations and is just unable to bring people any of the change they want in their life or in the world. So, I guess that even if young people watch TV, they opt only for entertainment programs like reality, talent and game shows, and maybe programs that feature holiday destinations and travel reviews as let them get a broader understanding of the world they live in.

2. What is the influence of foreign shows on the shows produced in your country?

Well, to my mind, foreign shows have tremendous sway with TV shows made in my country as they provide our TV producers with the three most important TV show components, I mean great ideas, the format and interesting content. This influence can hardly be overestimated as altogether these three building blocks improve the quality of shows produced in my country and make them explode with audience activity massive numbers of engagement, is vital for our TV channels and the profit.
