Can you tell me something about the Chinese New Year Festival?( 5 - 8 )
One of the aspects I could tell you about regarding this topic ii that is a national festival celebrated all over China. It is commonly known as the ‘Spring Festival’. This does not mean that it takes place in the spring season. It starts on the first day of the lunar New Year, and lasts for fifteen days. Secondly, it is a very joyous time of the year, with best wishes being sent all around. For instance, there are firework displays, dinner parties, and dumplings at midnight, and the elder generations give money to the youngsters.
Why is this Festival so important to Chinese people? ( 5 - 8 )
In the distant past, the animal known as ‘Nian’ in Chinese was believed to eat people. It was afraid of fire, so fireworks were lit to scare the animal away, and so ensure a safe life. Today however, it is only a major time of rest for workers at the beginning of a new working year, and an opportunity to visit family and friends, and be generally happy and joyful.

Could you tell me something about the Qing Ming Festival? (5-8)
This festival takes place on the fifth of April. Fake money is sold by many stores and burned. The words for ‘burning’ and ‘sending a message’ sound similar in Chinese, so by burning fake money we believe that the money is being sent to the deceased in another world. In addition, flowers and fruit are place on the graves of loved ones.

Describe a book you have recently read
You should say:
What type/kind of book it was What it was about
Where you read it
How you felt about the book?
One of the books that I have recently read is called At Home: A Short history of Private Life by an author called Bill Bryson. It is a thick, factual book about many different subjects. It is really a collection of information and anecdotes related to our private lives, past and present.
The book is mainly about things that have been included in our homes over the centuries. The author started out by wondering about the history of everything in his own home. As it is a factual book rather than a novel, it does not have a plot as such. Each chapter in the book covers the history of a particular room. For example, the chapter on the kitchen talks about the history of running water, electricity, gas cooking and so on. The chapter about the bathroom looks at the history of plumbing, sanitation and privacy. The book contains so much interesting information that I think I will have to read it again in order to take it all in.
As to the kind of people who would enjoy It, I think anybody who IS interested in history and enjoys learning lots of interesting facts would enjoy reading this book. It would also appeal to a busy person, as it is a good book to dip in and out of, because you don't have to follow a story, as you would with a novel. You can just take it chapter by chapter, or even page by page, as there is something to learn on every page. Each chapter is written like a story, even though it is a factual book, so it takes the reader to all sorts of unexpected places, and for me it was a real page-turner.
I like this book because I learned such a huge amount from it, which has made me look around my own home with different eyes and appreciate just how far we have come in a short space of time in terms of architecture, technology, lighting, comfort and many other things.

Do you like to take photos?
I am not a professional photographer and my interests vary for a career. However, I do like clicking photos from my iPhone, either when I am travelling or at parties. For me, photos are a mere collection of the memories made which I often display at my house of social media account. Taking those crazy pictures, sometimes hazy fill me with joy and remind me of the great times I had.
Would you like to study photography?
Presently not. I think there is already a lot on my plate. With a job at a corporate and being a freelancer leaves very little time for any learning. How often do you take photos?
Technology has made life so much simpler and convenient. With the smart phones, I believe it has become easier for everyone to actually capture amazing photos. The different modes that the present day smart phones give to its users for clicking photos can actually make anyone crazy and it surely has had an impact on me as well. I do almost always prefer clicking photos rather than taking notes. Like, photos of presentations or a note I’d like to remember. Could also be the times when giving farewell or any other party or of nature. I do click photos from my iPhone just about the moment I feel like clicking one.
