范文
Ok, well after a bit of thought, I’ve decided that the book I’d like to talk about is one called Think Like DaVinci, as it's definitely a book I would like to read again at some point, for reasons I'll come on to shortly.
But firstly though, with regard to what the book’s about, well in a nutshell, it basically explains how all of us have the capability and potential to become a genius, like DaVinci. And it outlines a few various things that he used to do, which we can also get into the habit of doing. So essentially, it puts forward some ideas on how we can all live to our full potential.
Anyway, as for what made me read it, well if my memory serves me correctly, I was browsing around in my local bookshop one day, and the book's cover kind of just caught my eye when I saw the name DaVinci written in big bold letters. So I read a few pages to see if it was any good, and ended up buying it.
I should also mention the fact that I'm quite a big fan of self-help books, because on the whole, I tend to learn quite a lot from them, and this book was definitely no exception. Just to give you an example, I would say I've learned to become much more observant after reading this book, such as generally paying more attention to everything around me. And in so doing, it’s made me appreciate things a lot more.
Of course, there were a number of other things I learned, but nothing else is coming to mind right now, and that's really kind of why I wanna read the book again, because I've forgotten a lot of it. So I kind of need torefresh my memory a little bit!

I have started reading the book ‘Sense and Sensibility’ by Jane Austen 2-3 weeks ago and got so busy with other stuffs that I am yet to finish it.
This book was written by a very famous writer named Jane Austen and it was about the love and life of two sisters. This novel is best known as a work of romantic fiction of comedy and manners. I usually read books on my day-off and at night after I return from my work.
I have been reading it for more than 2-3 weeks and have finished more than half of the book. Since I got busy with my work and exam, I had not been able to finish it yet. I usually read about one hours at night and sometimes more than an hour if I have days off next day.
The writing and narration of Jane Austen is incomparable. She is one of the most revered women writers who had a great charisma to depict the society, people and culture of the old England. This book represents such characters and I like the way the story was told. It vividly represents the good and bad manners and characteristics we have and then shows a perfect balance of those characteristics and morality. I am in fact enjoying reading the book as I have enjoyed other novels by this famous writer.
雅思考試口語范文:一本書
Describe a book that you liked in your childhood.
You should say:
* what was this book
* how you got the book
* what the book told you
and explain why you liked the book as a child.
Model Response: I think I was a great reader during my childhood, and there were so many books in which I was deeply engrossed. But my favorite one was a novel called Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, one of the greatest novelists of the 19th century. I got it as a birthday gift from my uncle George. He didn’t say anything about the book when he handed it to me, but after the first reading I thought I got his meaning. Uncle George wanted me to become a person with unshakable inner strength just like Pip, the protagonist of the novel, who was able to fight against his ill fate with fortitude and perseverance and finally achieve a lot of success in a society that was prejudiced against people like him. As a child, I liked this classic novel for a number of reasons. First, I was quite impressed by the vivid descriptions of many interesting characters and their interactions. I mean that Charles Dickens was really a master of the English language; you can form a mental picture of what is going on in the novel. Second, the plot is full of twists and turns, always making me eager to find out what will happen next. And finally, I think Pip has become a hero for many young children like me. Whenever I felt down, I would open this book and find an inspiring chapter to read. In that way, I was recharged and empowered so that I could get myself back on feet.
