education雅思范文

education雅思范文篇一:more money on education?

Some people said the government shouldn't put money on building theaters and sports stadiums; they should spend more money on medical care and education. Agree or not agree?

Nowadays, many people argue against the government putting money on building theaters and sports stadiums. They have claimed that medical care and education would benefit the citizens and the country much more.

However, I believe it is worth building more theaters and arenas.

First, stadiums and arenas provide ideal places for people to have physical exercises and entertainment. After a whole week’s hardworking, people can enjoy a wonderful football game in the weekend, and refresh themselves with a good relaxation there. Moreover, the physical exercises are good for people’s health, which will ease the pressure of medical care.

Second, theaters and museums can be used as base areas of culture and history education. The British Museum, which is the largest one in the world, provides visitors with knowledge about the world culture and the arts. The visitors to the museum are all overwhelmed by the magnificence of the cultural and historical displays featuring mankind’s achievements. In addition, the performances shown in the theaters will also greatly enrich the lives of citizens. People can enjoy ballet, symphony, and Peking Opera in a theater, which contain the soul of Chinese and western cultures.

Third, running theaters and stadiums can earn much money. And this amount of money can do great contribution in other fields, including medical care, and education. After winning the Olympic 2008,Beijing made a plan to spend 160 billion RMB building an Olympic Village. This will surely attract many sports fans to China, which would be much rewarded, not only in economy but the whole society.

You can tell form my commentary above, since building theaters and stadiums benefit not only individuals but also the state, it is very worthy of these expenses. And the government should speed up the pace of the constructions.

education雅思范文篇二:Education—Losing Its Value

Today, more and more people are attending third level education, and many go on to post-graduate degrees. People specialize in subjects that were not dreamed of a century ago. However, the result has not been an increase in real knowledge, but a cheapening of education. In this essay I will discuss how education has become devalued.

Education is now something that can be purchased. Like a powerful new car or an architect-designed house, a degree or a post-graduate degree has become a luxury that everyone wants. But when everybody has something, that thing becomes worthless. Gold is sought after because it is expensive and hard to find, but if everybody changed their attitude to gold, its value would drop.

In the same way, education, like the currency of a bankrupt country, is becoming devalued as more people have degrees. It takes ever-higher qualifications to get a job. Once a degree-holder was respected and listened to. Now he or she is just another job-seeker or employee.

One effect of the rush towards degrees is that knowledge becomes less important. Other factors, such as influence, are more central in getting a job or a promotion when everyone has a qualification. A further point is that people lose respect for themselves. Since everybody has a degree, even degree-holders feel that what they have is almost worthless. More seriously, the pressure to have degrees results in a drop in quality. When thousands of people study in a college, the professors cannot possibly maintain standards. Furthermore, we need to question whether advanced education is suitable for everyone. Does our entire population really need to spend years in school and college just to do fairly simple jobs?

In conclusion, there are many negative aspects to the increased emphasis on qualifications. If we want to maintain the value of education, we need to examine the emphasis we put on degrees.

education雅思范文篇三:Education's Role

1. Should developing countries concentrate on Improving industrial skills or should they promote education first?

2. Education is a critical factor in a country’s development. Opinion is divided, however, on whether a developing country with limited resources should give priority to improving and expanding basic education for the masses or to providing a high quality tertiary education for the future leaders. Pd(1)

- Why should improve and expand basic education?

- Everyone born to this world is equal and, hence, is entitled to receiving basic education.

- Only by improving basic education could a poor nation encourage its people to discover their potential, which would translate into their knowledge and skills to be employed at work, thus/thereby improving productivity and , ultimately, living standards.

- It’s common people who make up the largest part of the workforce.

- The moral question of equal opportunities for everyone. On what criteria can a young person be judged as a potential future leader or just as a common person?

- Deprive the involved individual of higher education opportunity to explore his/her full potential, and might also deprive the nation of a potential clever leader.

3. Describe the major purpose of education in society.

- Well – educated and good citizens.

- Skillful and qualified workforce.

4. Too much education is dangerous. If people receive more education than they need to function in their job, it only breeds dissatisfaction. For or against? -Preparation and practice –141

Too much education is dangerous?

- Education gives people unrealistic ambitions: the law of the market decrees that not every one can be a managing director.

- There is very little point in training people for a level of job that they can never hope to achieve.

- Education is expensive. Overeducation is a waste of time and money.

- Students tend to be a disruptive influence on society: found at the forefront of radical organisation.

Why should invest in education?

- Most countries need a high standard of human resources in order to compete in the world market.

- Uneducated people unable to show initiative.

- Constantly changing technology means that the workforce has to be flexible and receptive to new ideas in order to be of value to employers.

- Moral question: who has the right to say how much education a person is entitled to? What criteria could be used to decide a level of schooling?

5. Topic19: Education is the single most important factor in the development of a country. Do you agree? Cuc 2

Why education is the most important factor?

- Education provides basis for other skills.

- Literacy improves working person’s capability.

- Creates self/ national respect.

- Education provides basis for healthy population.

Why education is not the most important factor?

- Health is more important than education.

- Economic development is important, and may only need unskilled workers.

- Difficult to find enough trained teachers.
