Answer A: Absolutely! I love to shop on the internet because online shopping offers many advantages over traditional shopping. Secondly, we can buy anything through the net without going to crowded marketplaces and it’s a hustle free process. Thirdly, return policies have made it more attractive. Last but not the least, these stores have competitive prices for leading brands.

Answer B: Well, I am not very fond of online shopping. And the reason behind this is my poor experience. Most of the products which I bought through the internet were defective and duplicate. My credit card information was also misused. So, I always prefer traditional shopping over the internet.

Well, I suppose shops that sell computers and computer games and also those that sell mobile phones. There seem to be more and more of them opening up. I suppose it’s not surprising. But I find these shops rather boring personally.

For me, one of the main disadvantages is that increased consumerism seems to emphasise the difference between rich and poor people. Also another disadvantage is that many people already work too hard and with the increasing consumerism they drive themselves harder and harder just to make money to buy things they don’t actually need, or have time to enjoy.

6.In what ways do you think advertising affects people's attitudes?

The more advertising there is, the more people seem to want. And they never satisfied with what they’ve got. I suppose it’s really depends what you mean by advertising. Some of it could be seen as socially useful. For example, anti-smoking advertising campaigns.

7.In what ways do you think shopping may change in the future?

Well, I’m sure there will be an increasing online shopping, because more and more people have access to home computers. I also think that many small shops in the centre of town will close down, and bigger and bigger supermarkets will open on the outskirts. In some ways it may be more convenient, but I don’t know if these changes will really improve our lives.

Soon I can record my voice on the computer and after a lot of practice; I can edit many audio files perfectly. I am extremely keen to learn how to do scuba diving. I have no real experience of life under the sea and to see this magical underwater world, I will need to train and get certified to dive. It has been a personal goal of mine for many years.

I first heard about the wonders of this sport from some of my mates who have travelled around the world and dived some of the most famous spots. In recent years, diving has become extremely popular among the younger generation of Chinese, As Chinese people nowadays travel a lot more, pursuits like these have also skyrocketed.

The hardest part about doing this sport is learning to swim and also losing your fear of water and drowning. I am no great swimmer, so I would at least need to learn how to stay afloat in water without feeling like I am going to drown. It seems very complicated, yet I have heard that it's not rocket science.

I would like to challenge myself and learn this sport as I view it as an achievable goal. It is important to set these types of challenges as they keep you focused and give you a sense of achievement at the end. The best approach is to use baby steps, so first I think I need to learn how to swim with confidence.
