I would like to talk about YangtzeRiver. It is one of the most important rivers in the world, and is also the longest river in China, the third-longest in the world. The river is about 6300 km long (3915 miles) and originates in a glacier lying on the eastern part of the Tibetan plateau.It passes through the spectacular Yangtze Gorges, which are noted for their natural beauty, and flows into the East China Sea. One of the dams on the river, Three Gorges Dam, is the largest hydro-electric power station in the world.

The river is one of the worlds busiest waterways. Traffic includes commercial traffic transporting bulk goods such as coal as well as manufactured goods and passengers. River cruises several days long, especially through the beautiful and scenic Three Gorges area, are also popular.

Many metropolis in China are located on its bank, like Wuhan, Chongqing and Nanjing. It plays an important role in agriculture and water transport.

1.What do you do in your spare time?

I love reading and writing when I have some free time available. Apart from these, I also like playing badminton. So, whenever I do get time, I usually read, write or play badminton.

There is nothing much that can be done after work because it really becomes quite tiring. So, most of the times I am either working on my blog or writing something or some drafts, here and there.

5.Do you prefer staying at home or going out during evenings?

I love taking long walks. So, if I am not busy at something during evenings, I usually take long walks with my friends or for that matter even alone at times.

When it comes to a special day out that didn’t cost too much, well, I would like to talk about a trip I had to the Huashan Mountain, which is located in the Hua County, somewhere in the east of Xi’an.

我記得是在我上大一之前的那個夏天第一次去了那里進(jìn)行了一日游。一位曾經(jīng)是我爸爸在軍隊的戰(zhàn)友邀請了我們一家去了這個世界聞名的華山。我們早上起得很早，大概五點(diǎn)就驅(qū)車去了那里，然后開始一路爬上去。華山不想其它的山，不止一個山峰，是一個集合體。我們一口氣把所有的山峰都爬了個遍。那天真的是那一年里耗費(fèi)力氣最多的一天，但是絕對值了!

I remember it was a summer day before my first semester of college in Xi’an that I went there for the first time. A military officer who once worked with my father in the army invited our family to have a one-day trip to this world-renowned scenic spot. We got up extremely early in the morning like 5 pm and drove to the foot of the mountain and began climbing. The mountain wasn’t like the traditional single peak one, it’s actually kind of a combination of many. We climbed all four summits at one go. That’s was probably the most energy-consuming activity during that whole year, but it’s definitely worth it!

Although we were fully prepared for this trip, it seemed none of us felt so confident about every detail of small scenic spots, because there’s quite a lot for you to discover along the way, and we didn’t find any single chance of being bored. When we reached the highest southern summit of the mountain, we felt a kind of sense of achievement.

我們都覺得這次旅行既健康又經(jīng)濟(jì)實(shí)惠。我們上下加起來包括買門票和飲料花了不超過三百塊錢而且還獲得了比去健身房花300塊會員費(fèi)得到的鍛煉還多。

We all felt this was a really healthy and money-saving trip. Because we just spend no more than 300 RMB for beverages and the entrance tickets during the whole trip. And we got more fitness exercises compared to those who hit the gym with more than 300 RMB membership fees.

有人說有時候去這些山都比較的危險。但是我想說的是我們一生就活一次，為什么不能去嘗試一下呢?而且也沒有那么危險，你說是不是呢?

Someone said that it’s sometimes dangerous to go to those huge mountains, but I have to say that we only live a life for once, why not try it? Basically, it’s not that risky, right?
