For instance, the installation of surveillance cameras in public places can deter criminals from committing crimes, as they are likely to be caught if they are recorded by the cameras. In addition, DNA and fingerprints can be used to identify crime suspects, which makes it easier for the police to solve cases. Moreover, social media and other online platforms are useful tools for monitoring criminal activity and sharing information with the public, which helps to prevent crime and raise public awareness.

On the other hand, technology has also facilitated the commission of crimes. For example, the internet provides a platform for cybercrime and online fraud, as criminals can easily access sensitive information and steal money or personal data from victims.
