高頻題目
01. In what ways can people learn something about science?
To beain with, I have to point out that reading is always the best way for people to learn whatever they want to learn. Of course, the reading that I mentioned doesnt only refer to reading printed books at home or in the library but also means reading some electronic books or browsing webpages. By doing so, people can easily gain knowledge in certain fields including science. Another way that is worth trying is visiting scientific museums where people can see many pictures and facilities explaining some abstract scientific theories. If they have enough time entering colleges to take some related optional courses is also an effective way for them to learn something about science.
02. In some countries fewer and fewer females choose a major related to science. What do you think of this trend?
This trend really happens in my country. In recent years, the majority of female high school graduates tend to choose the majors, which can greatly help them to be awhite collar worker in the future. Nearly all of them want to work in a tall office building, wearing a decent suit enjoying a cup of coffee and 24/7 air conditioning. Compared with this being a researcher working in some labs isnt that much attractive to them. From my point of view, thats the main reason why high school girls are likely to choose majors like accounting, finance, business management rather than chemistry, bio pharming or high polymer material.
03. Is science popular in your country?
From my point of view, it depends on what kind of science it is. Frank speaking, most of the people are not really interested in news about scientific and technological development because it isnt related closely to their life. For example, we dont care about how many rockets we launched this year or how many satellites one rocket can transport to space. Those kinds of breakthrough in science are a little far away from peoples life However, some technical improvements in, for instance, the automobile industry or the mobile phone manufacture, can readily attract the public attention. Therefore, what I mean is that science in some certain fields is popular in my country but not in all fields.
04. What kind of science subjects do you think should be set in primary school and secondary school in your country? Why?
For secondary school students, there is no doubt that they need to learn some subjects like physics, biology and chemistry. As far as I can remember, in my country those three subjects are all compulsory fo middle school students. This is distinctly reasonable For schoolchildren. I think they need a subject called nature study, by which they can learn some common sense and common science. Of course, the knowledge. which those children are exposed to, shouldnt be too difficult, abstract or theoretical There ought to be simple scientific experiments, by which pupils interest of learning science can be cultivated to a maximum extent. Teachers should assign homework of this subject but exams should be definitely banned.
