Gap year的話題背景閱讀:In the professional or career world, a gap year is a year before going to college or university and after finishing high school or taking a year off before going into graduate school after completing a bachelor as an undergraduate. It is also known as a sabbatical year. During this time students may engage in advanced academic courses, extra-academic courses and non-academic courses, such as yearlong pre-college math courses, language studies, learning a trade, art studies, volunteer work, travel, internships, sports and more.Gap years are sometimes urged as a way for students to become independent and learn a great deal of responsibility prior to engaging in university life.
寫作要點:題目要求同時討論間隔年的advantages和disadvantages.

It is quite common these days for young people in many countries to have a break from studying after graduating from high school. Young adults may end up never returning to their studies or finding it difficult to readapt to an academic environment(此句直接切入間隔年具體的問題:很多年輕人很難在專注于學習生活,回來以后發(fā)現(xiàn)自己再難適應(yīng)學術(shù)環(huán)境). My view is that young people should be encouraged to broaden their horizons. (結(jié)論段直接切入個人看法:支持學生參與gap year.) That is the best way for them to get a clear perspective of what they are hoping to do with their lives and why(詞句呼應(yīng)了主體段第2段的內(nèi)容,間隔年的具體的好處). Students with such a perspective are usually the most effective and motivated ones and taking a year off may be the best way to gain this.(最后回到主題,如果想要獲得這些間隔年帶來的好處,那么必然就有動力去gap year. 由此可見考官范文的完美邏輯,即前后呼應(yīng)有強調(diào)了自己觀點的合理性)
我們可以從整篇范文中借鑒考官寫此類題型的的一個文章結(jié)構(gòu):經(jīng)典的四段式:第一段由話題背景切入討論的主題,沒有給出個人的看法;第二段(即主題段第1段)按照題目要求討論了間隔年的advantages;第三段(即主體段第2段)回答了題目中的間隔年的可能帶來的問題,此段最后一句給下一段的個人結(jié)論做了小小鋪墊,即這種常見的對于間隔年所帶來的問題的擔憂的現(xiàn)實可能性很小,也就是說這些問題在生活中不太可能發(fā)生,很明顯可以得到最后一段(結(jié)論段)的個人的結(jié)論:間隔年的優(yōu)勢太明顯了,因為它潛在的問題幾乎不會出現(xiàn)。由此可見考官十分完美的完成了寫作評分task response和coherence and cohesion(具體Linker的使用可對照文中圓圈符號)這兩個標準。

The reasons for this trend may involve the recognition that+同位語從句(大多是陳述句):這種趨勢的主要原因在于這樣的一個認識或者看法,后跟陳述句補充這種看法的內(nèi)容。
By contrast (相反),: 引出對比中的另一方。

tant factor in academic study and research, as well as giving them an advantage in terms of coping with the challenges of student life.:Which跟之前的句子陳分之間用逗號隔開,非限制性定語從句,which指代前面的they tend to be more independent;which后面的句子則補充說明他們更獨立這件事情會帶來的好處,as well as的用法類似于and,但是后邊不跟完整的句子。
end up doing sth. :以.告終的意思
sb find it adjective (difficult) to do sth. :某人發(fā)現(xiàn)做某事是怎樣的(adj.)注意句中的it是形式賓語,代指句子后邊的to do th.
My view is that ..(+陳述句) :此句為表語從句,可以直接引出個人看法
get a clear perspective of sth. :對某事物由清楚明白的了解看法
