According to the American film actor John Wayne Tomorrow is the most important thing in life.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
高分范文
According to American film actor John Wayne, tomorrow is the priority for him. As far as I am concerned, it is valid if it is only his personal choice, because different people in different stages of life have different missions. I tend to believe that tomorrow is not the most important thing for people to consider.
It cannot be denied people need to complete many of their tasks, especially the difficult ones, in different days. The idea of tomorrow gives them hope. However, I would argue that if people do not pay attention to the position where they are standing right at this moment, it will be extremely difficult for them to achieve anything fruitful in the future.
Today is of utmost importance for people. Many people support that every little step counts. Similarly, as a Chinese proverb goes, every journey of thousands of miles starts from the first step. If people fail to pay attention to what they have right now, they will possibly fail in the future. For example, if they need to plan a long journey to a different country, they need to start saving from today, instead of just whining for a better tomorrow without taking any actual actions. A person is likely to fail the mission, if his/she cannot carry out their duty responsibly every day. Every great achievement starts from today.
(I believe that different philosophers had already discussed this topic long time ago. It is often believed that Socrates argues with Epicurus. Socrates believes that unexamined life is not worth living, while Epicurus argues that they need to enjoy every moment and every day. I think they are both correct, but people need to strike a balance. People cannot examine their life every second, or else they cannot achieve anything at the end of the day. Meanwhile, people who indulge themselves into endless happiness will often suffer from boredom or pain, like a pendulum, as Schopenhauer points out. As for me, I tend to agree with Confucius, who taught his students, learning without thinking is confusing, while thinking without learning is dangerous. Also, he believes that[j1] learning is repetitive, and people need to practice occasionally for pleasure. So, can people learn and do everything just for tomorrow without enjoying themselves right at this moment? I believe that most philosophers will possibly say no. )
What is more, many great leaders nowadays will lure their followers to believe that tomorrow is the most essential topic, so that they can tell people to sacrifice today (夢(mèng)幻聯(lián)動(dòng), 8.22 題目, 為了明天的環(huán)保問(wèn)題, 能否犧牲今天? ) For example, some politicians consider it is easy to take care of the environmental problems, and the solution is to sacrifice the happiness of the current generation. It is ridiculous. What if it does not help? They will have more excuses to sacrifice next generation and the generations after. Therefore, I dutifully argue that today is the most important day in life. How people treat us today represents how they are going to treat us tomorrow, and it is often a delusion or fantasy for people to discard what they have today, with the excuse of having a better life in the future.
To conclude, it is reasonable for people to plan for tomorrow, but I tend to believe tomorrow is not a good reason or excuse to sacrifice what we currently have. I tend to support today is the most important day in life.
