這一個Part2題目是讓考生描述一個長久的志向。Part3是要求考生關(guān)于年輕人的志向、老年人的志向、志向的好與壞、如何培養(yǎng)小朋友的志向等話題和考官展開討論。大家在準(zhǔn)備的時候，要備足一些關(guān)于達(dá)到志向或者奮斗目標(biāo)的關(guān)鍵詞：hard work, passion, dedication, efforts, discipline. 回答這組問題時，大家可以圍繞著這個主線進(jìn)行解釋和舉例子。

1. Ambitions

‐(Identify) The common types of ambitions young people usually have?

Tips:分開2個層次來回答

Young people usually set goals for themselves to achieve in the short term and long term. For example, learning how to drive is a very common short-term goal and being able to travel the world is a pretty common long-term goal. Other than setting goals, ambitious young people also like to aim for meeting certain standards, such as having an A for an exam, or having better basketball skills than most of my classmates.

‐(Whether) Ambitions are the same as dreams?

Tips: define the term ambition and the term dream.

Ambitions are different from dreams. An ambition is an achievement that you desire to have. It is a realistic goal that is achievable while requiring hard work, passion, dedication and even sacrifices. Someone can make plans and efforts to strive for achieving his or her ambitions. Dreams are something unrealistic and can be impractical to realize. They are usually very vague and more difficult to achieve than ambitions.

‐(Agree/disagree) Ambition is only word for young people.

I dont think ambition only applies to young people - older people can have ambitions too. Being more mature and established, older people may have different kinds of ambitions than young people. They may aim to buy a house rather than securing a decent job, they may want to learn a certain hobby rather than traveling the world. Whether to have ambitions has nothing to do with age, its a matter of personality.

2. Having an ambition

‐(Whether) To have an ambition is always a good thing.

I dont think it is always a good thinghaving ambitions can be a problem as well. If people set very high expectations for themselves, and push themselves too hard to meet those expectations, they are likely to face the problems of pressure when they are working towards their goals and experience disappointment if they fail. It is only a good thing when someone has a realistic ambition and healthy amounts of pressure.

‐(Reasons) Why some people dont have an ambition?

There are a few reasons for this. First, people can be afraid of challenges. Ambitions are usually difficult to attain and require determination and strong willpower to achieve. Second, people can be lazy. Like I just mentioned, you need to work hard for your ambition. Third, some people may already have a pretty comfortable life and they believe what they have is enough, and therefore there is no need for ambition.

‐(Identify) The disadvantages of having an ambition.

Like I mentioned above, achieving ambitions usually require hard work, determination and dedication. You may need to work tirelessly for a long time to achieve your goals. Some major disadvantages of that is you may have to sacrifice your health, because you dont have much energy left to exercise or take care of yourself. And you may have to sacrifice the time that you could have spent with your friends and family.

3. Achieve ones ambition

‐(Consider) What difficulties young people often have in achieving their own ambitions?

There are certain obstacles that can limit young people from achieving their ambitions.

The most important one is someones own weakness. For example, a person may set a goal to win a running competition. Due to laziness and lack of discipline, he cannot keep practicing regularly, which will very likely results in failure to achieving the ambition. Another obstacle can be having unrealistically high expectations that are hard to meet. When young people fail to meet those expectations, they tend to get disappointed and be down on themselves, which will further discourage them to carry on working towards the original goals.

‐(Suggest) Ways for people to teach their children how to achieve an ambition.

First of all, it is important to show children good role models and success stories so that they are inspired to have ambitions. Secondly, people that can achieve their ambitions are usually hard-working and self-starters. Parents should teach their children to take charge of their lives and let them realize they can are responsible for their own success and failures. Therefore, children will realize whether an ambition can be achieved is in their own hands. Thirdly, parents can teach children how to be disciplined by charting their progress. When children realize every single effort counts, they are more likely to carry on the hard work until they achieve their goals.

‐(Whether) Making plans is helpful to achieving ones ambition.

Making plan is certainly helpful and its the first step to achieve ones ambition. An ambition is usually a goal that is difficult to reach, and the time it takes to reach it can be pretty long. Making plans can help someone break down a difficult goal into achievable steps, which will make the process a bit easier. In addition, its also helpful to keep someone disciplined and make sure he or she can prioritize life to make time for his or her own ambition.
