雅思寫作6分范文

雅思寫作6分范文-舊建筑與新建筑

Do you think old buildings should be broken down, and give place for modern buildings. How are the old buildings important in our society?

With the rapid development of urbanization, many people advocate the demolition of old houses for the benefit of economic and social development. But others argue that we can’t ruin the traditional cultural heritage. Personally, I side with the former opinion.

In the first place, the existence of old houses is an obstacle to modern urbanization by damaging the image of the city. If they are replaced with modern skyscrapers, the city will take on a new look. Take the Summer Palace in Beijing for example, Being government has demolished a large number of run-down the Summer Palace and constructed many new housing buildings instead.

In the second place, there is a potential danger to people living in old houses or even passers-by. If the houses are old enough to collapse in the end, where does the value of culture or tourism exist? The tourists surely will not travel a long distance to see these so-called “culture heritage” at the risk of their lives.

In the third place, replacing old houses with buildings can help to solve housing problems. It is well-known that China is a densely-populated country and people in urban areas only have little housing space. Undoubtedly, replacing old houses with new buildings is a good way to solve the problem.

As mentioned above, I can draw a conclusion safely: It is irresistible to replace old houses with modern buildings. At the same time, it is necessary for us to restore a limited number of old houses for the sake of conserving traditional culture and attracting tourists.

雅思寫作6分范文-科技發(fā)展

Scientific and technological advances have changed our lives. But somescientists in some fields say that scientists are not able to find solutions tothe problems they have created. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

We sure live differently from our parents did decades ago. The changes arewide and profound. At the same time, we are facing challenges and problemsunknown in the past. Could we find solutions to problems created by scientificdevelopment? The answer seems to be no.

Some of the most obvious problems caused by technological advances lie inthe IT industry. At a time when we did not have computers and electronic bankservices, people took money with them and paid by cash. If they were stolen, only the amount they had with them was lost. But now credit cards are morecommonly used in shopping malls and other places, crimes again us have becomemore serious and caused greater losses to people. A thief may tape the code ofyour credit card and make a copy of it. Then he could safely withdraw all yourmoney from an ATM machine. Crimes such as this are very sticky to solve becausethere is no witness and the surveillance cameras give little help to thepolice.

Another example is the issue of information control with the media industryincluding TV networks and Internet that give easy access to information withoutdiscrimination to people’s age. This has created a huge problem for parents andschools because teenage people are particularly vulnerable to adult materialsand information violent in nature. In the past, when most information came inthe form of print, it was relatively easy to control what children read. When aparent put away a book unsuitable for children, they were cut off from thesource of information. With computer parents could use software to filter badweb sites but could not prevent new ones from appearing every day.

雅思寫作6分范文-換工作

Some people prefer to stay in the same job for the same company, but others prefer to change jobs frequently. You should use specific reasons to compare the advantages and disadvantages of both sides.

Advantage of staying in the same job for the same company

Practice makes perfect. After working at a certain position long enough, a person will become very familiar with the work procedures and will be much more experienced, skillful and efficient than new comers in dealing with various tasks at this position.

Loyal employees are more likely to be promoted. If a person stays in a company longer than others, it usually means this person has made more contributions and is more loyal to the company and thus will have better chance of being promoted.

Staying in the same job increases a person’s self-value. If someone keeps on learning the latest knowledge and skills at a certain position in a certain field, this person will eventually become an expert or a professional or at least a highly skillful worker in this field, earning much more than other fresh-hands.

Disadvantage of staying in the same job for the same company = advantage of changing jobs

Some companies are not worth a person’s whole career life. There are some companies which lag far behind their competitors in a certain industry. They offer much less reward for their employees and they do not have a fair promotion system or a reasonable welfare system. Some can barely survive in today’s competitive society. Therefore both in terms of remuneration as well as career prospect, working long for them is not wise.

It is not easy to find an ideal job the first time you look for it, especially for fresh university graduates. Sometimes it is only by trying several jobs can a person eventually know what he or she likes doing most or can do best. Sticking to the wrong type of work makes it impossible for a person to enjoy working.

Some work is so boring that if someone keeps doing it for too long, he or she will feel dull and will become less interested and careful in doing that work.
