My hometown is a beautiful city located in the northeast of China, called Shenyang. It is the political, cultural, and economic center of Liaoning Province, known for its rich history, spacious city square, unique cuisine, and hospitable people.
As for the history of Shenyang, it was a vital city during the Qing dynasty, containing many historic sites such as the Shenyang Palace Museum which continues to attract millions of visitors yearly. The spacious city square in downtown, provides an open-air community gathering place for residents. Additionally, the local cuisine here is very distinct, including famous dishes such as Laobian Dumplings, Dongbei Roast chicken, and Shenyang-style instant-boiled mutton.
Despite being a rapidly developing city, Shenyang still maintains its traditional culture and way of life. It is also famous for Liaoning Embroidery, which is one of the most famous Chinese folk art. Besides, it is a popular destination for tourists to experience and learn about traditional Chinese culture, especially during the Lantern Festival or early spring flower-viewing.
