A hard decision that I once made that I would like to talk about was choosing to study in a city that is far away from my hometown.

我想講的一次自己做的艱難決定就是遠(yuǎn)離家鄉(xiāng)去另外一個(gè)城市讀書。

The decision was made after the results of College Entrance Exams came out in the summer three years ago.You know,my parents had expectations of me,hoping that I could get enough scores to be matriculated by a local university,which would make it easier for them to take care of me.For me,it would also be convenient to live in a city where I was born and raised.Well,I exerted every effort to achieve this goal but ended up failing them.My scores didn’t allow me to choose a good major if I persist in staying in that university.

這個(gè)決定是在我三年前高考成績出來的時(shí)候做的。我父母當(dāng)時(shí)給予我厚望，希望我可以考?jí)蚍謹(jǐn)?shù)去本地的一所大學(xué)念書。這樣的話，他們就可以比較容易照顧到我。對(duì)于我來說，在一個(gè)生我養(yǎng)我的城市讀書也會(huì)比較方便。我當(dāng)時(shí)竭盡全力去努力達(dá)成這個(gè)目標(biāo)結(jié)果還是讓他們失望了。我考到的分?jǐn)?shù)不足以讓我在那所大學(xué)年讀一個(gè)好專業(yè)。

Well,it took me three days to make the decision,which was actually not long as our school needed us to make a decision in a relatively shorter timeframe.However,the process of pondering on the pros and cons of a specific major and college tormented me quite a lot.You know,I had to consider this thing from both the geographic and educational perspectives.

這個(gè)決定花了三天，時(shí)間并不長。因?yàn)槲覀儗W(xué)校要求我們要在較短的時(shí)間內(nèi)做出決定。但是，當(dāng)時(shí)反復(fù)思和權(quán)衡考大學(xué)和專業(yè)的過程真是折磨死我了。我得從地理和教育兩個(gè)角度來考慮這件事情。

The reason why I think it was difficult to make was that I actually had little experience or knowledge about the programs I was about to choose from.You know,my high school was merely about cramming for the exams instead of exploring the realms that I might potentially have a passion for.I really hope someone who had experienced similar situations could guide me at that time.

我認(rèn)為這個(gè)決定比較難的原因就是我當(dāng)時(shí)對(duì)我要從中選擇的各種專業(yè)幾乎是一無所知。我高中基本上只有應(yīng)試的部分，而非探索我可能比較感興趣的領(lǐng)域。我當(dāng)時(shí)真希望經(jīng)歷過類似情況的人能夠指點(diǎn)我一下。
