In what conditions would you use a computer? 你會(huì)在什么情況下使用計(jì)算機(jī)？

Mostly, when I need to write essays and reports. The relevant software such as “Word” and “Excel” substantially facilitate the writing and editing process. Sometimes, I would also use my laptop to play games and watch TV series. But the frequency has plunged since I had my smartphone.

大多數(shù)情況下，當(dāng)我需要寫論文和報(bào)告的時(shí)候。諸如word與excel這樣的相關(guān)軟件極大地方便了書寫與編輯過(guò)程。有時(shí)候，我也會(huì)用我的筆記本玩游戲或者看電視劇。但自從有了智能手機(jī)之后，其頻率就大大降低了。

When was the first time you used a computer? 你第一次使用計(jì)算機(jī)是在什么時(shí)候？

I literally cannot remember. It seems that ever since I had a memory, the computer has been an integral part of my life. You know, When I was still a kid, I sat on my father’s lap and watched him doing his job. Several years later, he taught me how to play games on it and search for information on the internet.

我完全不記得了。似乎自從我有記憶開(kāi)始，計(jì)算機(jī)就是生活中必不可少的一部分。當(dāng)我還是個(gè)孩子的時(shí)候，我坐在父親的腿上看著他做工作。幾年之后，他教我如何在上面玩游戲，以及如何在互聯(lián)網(wǎng)上搜索信息。

What would your life be like without computers? 如果沒(méi)有計(jì)算機(jī)的話，你的生活會(huì)是什么樣子？

It will become much less convenient. Although the smartphone can now perform many tasks that used to exclusively belong to the computer, like shopping online, playing video games, and surfing the internet, the computer still serves as an indispensable tool in work and study. Its keyboard, mouse, and bigger screen make it much more efficient to input information and search for something.

它會(huì)變得不太方便。雖然智能手機(jī)如今可以完成許多曾獨(dú)屬于計(jì)算機(jī)的任務(wù)，比如網(wǎng)上購(gòu)物、玩游戲和上網(wǎng)，電腦仍然是工作和學(xué)習(xí)中必不可少的工具。它的鍵盤，鼠標(biāo)和更大的屏幕讓它在輸入信息和搜索東西方面更有效率。

In what conditions would it be difficult for you to use a computer? 在什么情況下使用計(jì)算機(jī)很困難？

When there is no power. No matter how powerful the computer is, it still operates on the premise of power supply. If I am cut off electricity, it will just become a pile of meaningless plastics and metals, which I can do nothing with.

當(dāng)沒(méi)有電的時(shí)候。不管計(jì)算機(jī)有多么強(qiáng)大，它的運(yùn)行仍然建立在電力供應(yīng)的基礎(chǔ)上。如果停電的話，它就會(huì)變成一堆沒(méi)有意義的塑料和金屬，我用它什么也做不了。
