Dear Linda,

I am writing to share my suggestions about the retirement event we are planning for our manager, Mr. Smith.

Having been working with Mr. Smith for only 3 years, I am already deeply impressed with his efficient ways of working as well as his fruitful leadership. Also, Mr. Smiths optimistic and positive attitude has inspired me to become more confident when facing challenges at work.

To express our thanks to Mr. Smith, I suggest to hold a retirement party for him at the Credit River Hotel. There is a spacious conference room that can accommodate all of our staff and it is close to our office so it will be time-saving for us to prepare for the event.

Additionally, I believe that we should give an unforgettable gift to Mr. Smith to memorize his 40 years of service in manufacturing industry. I suppose we could specially make a model of our representative product for him, with the company logo and his name on it.
