I think the government should take action to protect the environment and residents should get more involved and take responsibility for their village.

Then we got talking to a local business owner about the situation. He said that the problem is growing at an alarming rate 令人震驚的速度 and he also explained how it is affecting the ocean and the marine life 海洋生物 and how some species are on the brink of extinction 瀕于滅亡. It was heartbreaking to hear some of the stories. Every day for the rest of our holiday we took part in a beach clean up. Although the issue is on a global scale we decided that every little thing you do can help.
