傳統(tǒng)的考題中要求描述a famous singer, a movie star, a sports star或a famous person。其實大家馬上就能看出新考題雖然在措詞上有所改變，但是描述的實質內容卻是可以相互套用的，我們可以借用體育明星或歌手來套這些話題。
對于這一類考題當然上一講中的人物外貌、性格等的描述都還是能用上的。但是它的特色是會涉及到其它類別的考題。比如：

◆ What role did he/she play in the film?
◆ What is the film about?
◆ What kind of music does he/she play?
◆ Which films did he/she act in?
這些問題的回答都需要涉及體育、電影、音樂等一類話題中的內容。這些話題我們在后面幾講中都會有詳細的論述。所以我們在準備的時候一定切忌太小范圍的押題，而是要對常考的話題有一個系統(tǒng)的學習，這樣才能在考試中應對自如，取得滿意的成績。

His importance to China can never be overestimated。

You should say:
who the person is;
which film or program he or she acted in;
what role he or she acted;

這道題目是個非常經典的半新題，與之前的明星話題重合，同時涉及到部分影視方面的東西。但這兩類都屬于常規(guī)題目。
首先，我們來看看，提到名人。都會有什么樣雖然老套，但依然可以拿出來講的東西呢?那就是名人很有名，具體的表現(xiàn)形式是怎樣的呢?
一旦成名了，明星就變成各大媒體追逐的對象了 become the focus of the media, 然后動不動就會上個頭條什么的(often) make the headlines。另外對于出名這件事兒，有些人是靠臉，有些可是靠演技的實力派。因此his vivid/faultless/superb performance 就可以派上用場，或者his diligence helped him earn his fame,還有modest attitude & spirit of persistence等等。
對于喜劇演員，起碼要做到make audience can't help laughing/make somebody laugh to tears/ roar with laughter。諸如黃渤，王寶強，本山大叔之類。但大家有沒有發(fā)現(xiàn)，這類明星都是非常接地氣，沒有什么明星架子的。這類親民明星，都具備一個特質就是folksy and unpretentious.
在具體陳述的過程中，大家一定要記得一點：不管什么樣的描述，一定要有詳細的例證去證明自己的言論。諸如：某某明星特別努力。那么接下來的例子一定是可以證明他是個努力的人。For example, he gets up before 5 in the morning and practices his lines over and over again even when he's already very famous.
接下來講到名人，還可以用的一個套路就是名人都會參與到慈善事業(yè)中來。這樣可以在社會道德高度拔高一下名人的影響。例如：
He's been devoting his time and money to charity work for years/almost a decade/decades. Because of his contribution, kids in that small village finally had the chances to get access to primary school education. So everybody respects him from the bottom of heart.
講到這個地方基本就可以完美收尾了。如果表達的過程中細節(jié)和例子夠充足的話，差不多考官也要打斷你了。

I’m going to talk about a musician that I admire, called... He’s a singer who also plays the guitar and writes his own songs. I think he recorded his first album about 10 years ago, and he’s released several other CDs since then.
He became successful after many years of writing songs and performing live in small venues all over the country. Gradually he built a following of people who liked his music. I think the key to his success was one of his songs that was used on a TV advertisement. This meant that more people became aware of his music.
I found out about... because one of my friends got tickets to see him in concert. I hadn’t heard any of his music before, but I went along to the gig and really enjoyed it. After that I bought the first CD, and now I’ve got all of them.
The reason I admire... is that he has worked hard for his success: it takes years of practice to become a good singer and guitarist, and he spent several years playing to very small audiences before he became successful. I also like the fact that he writes his own music. I admire people who have worked hard to get where they are.
Note: 'Gig' is an informal word for concert or performance, but it's fine to use it in this context.

1.Who is your favorite celebrity in your country?
I guess not only me, a number of young people have been highly impressed by her for the past months- Deshauna Barber. She is our 2016 Miss USA and the representative of USA in Miss Universe taking place in Las Vegas in the same year. After the beauty contests, she became well-known for her outstanding beauty, her amazing characteristics and also her professionalism.
2. Do you like any foreign celebrities?
Absolutely. The person I’m gonna talk about is my bias ever since I was a teenage girl-Miley Cyrus. I guess most people at the same age as me grew up with Disney Channel and among its successful series, Hannah Montanah starring Miley Cyrus would always be on top of my list. Although now she’s grown up, I’m still a big fan of her amazing voice and highly inspiring songs.
3.Would you like to be a celebrity? Why?
Well though I’ve never thought about it, I’m pretty sure that rising to stardom would never be one of my life goals. I appreciate all the efforts that the celebrities, no matter which field they’re working on, are making every single day. However, I find myself not belong to that world, I mean, you never know what’s going on when the curtains close, right? So yeah, I don’t think I want to become a public figure, to be honest.
4. Do you think we should protect famous people’s privacy?
Indeed. As you probably can tell, these days fans, anti-fans and even non-fans are so curious about what their bias are doing. Some are aggressive that they mentally attack their bias by leaving bad comments online. Some even approach them in person on the street, especially the so-called paparazzi. Thus I strongly agree that there should be some regulations to protect the celebrities’ privacy.
5. How do celebrities influence their fans in your country?
I think the influence of celebrities on fans is extensive. It’s somehow natural to follow our bias and try to be like them. At the first place it could probably be just physical changes like clothing, hairstyle or makeup. However thanks to social network, fans and idols are much closer now, sometimes it’s just a status away. However this mental connection is a two-edged sword, meaning the idols actually need to be more careful about their lifestyle or their manners.
