Well,a time when I missed an appointment was missing my best friend Wang Lei’s birthday party.

一次我錯(cuò)過別人的約定就是錯(cuò)過了我最好的朋友Wang Lei的生日慶祝會(huì)。

It was about last summer when I just graduated from senior high school.As usual,I accepted Wang’s invitation to his party,which will be held at his grand villa,and he promised that we would have more fun together this time.

這大概是在去年夏天，我們那個(gè)時(shí)候剛從高中畢業(yè)。和往常一樣，我接受了Wang的生日聚會(huì)邀請(qǐng)，這個(gè)聚會(huì)會(huì)在他家的豪華別墅內(nèi)舉辦，他也想我保證，這次我們一定會(huì)玩得很開心。

I actually knew Wang’s birthday by heart because I had celebrated his birthday for two years.However,that summer was a bit special.You know,my father wanted me to have an internship in a company of his friend,hoping that I could make the most of my summer before college.So,I followed his advice and went to Beijing,which was far away from my hometown,and started my six consecutive weeks of working.The internship was so intensive that I didn’t even realize I missed his birthday until I refreshed his Wechat moment,where he posted lots of nice photos of his party.

我其實(shí)對(duì)Wang的生日記得很清楚的，因?yàn)槲覟樗麘c祝了兩年的生日了。但是，那個(gè)夏天有點(diǎn)特殊。我爸爸想讓我把上大學(xué)前的那個(gè)暑假充分利用起來，于是想讓我去他朋友家的公司實(shí)習(xí)。我采納了他的建議，然后就去了北京，這距離我家鄉(xiāng)特別遠(yuǎn)，然后我就開始了連續(xù)不斷的六周工作。實(shí)習(xí)強(qiáng)度很大，我甚至都沒有意識(shí)到我錯(cuò)過了他的生日慶祝，是我刷到了他微信朋友圈發(fā)出來的很多張不錯(cuò)的生日聚會(huì)照片才意識(shí)到的。

Well,I think the main reason I missed the appointment was that the heavy workload completely diverted my attention from my personal social network.At that time,I truly felt I was not a multi-tasker.

我覺得我錯(cuò)過這個(gè)約定的主要原因就是工作量太大，分散了我對(duì)個(gè)人交際關(guān)系的注意力。就是在那個(gè)時(shí)候我才知道我不是一個(gè)多線程辦事的人。

I felt guilty about this incident because he was my best friend,and I should’ve set up a reminder or something beforehand.

我對(duì)這次事件感到內(nèi)疚，因?yàn)樗俏易钜玫呐笥?，我?yīng)該事先設(shè)置好一個(gè)備忘錄的。
